Stay Focused on What?

"Focus on what?" you ask. "I didn't mean to laugh at your name, Mr. Thirak, but we were quite focused on turning ourselves back to normal. You sound like you're going to guide us on some kind of quest thing."

"Perhaps I am," Muttered the strange man. "Come along girls. I'll explain as we walk. If my guess is right, we'll be able to turn you all back to normal and we might be able to stop the one behind your 'accident'"

The scientist piped up, sounding incredulous.

"Are you saying, I made us like this deliberately? You think I wanted to be a girl!?"

"You keep talking like that to me," said Thirak, jabbing his wand in the direction of the scientist. "And I'll set the timeline back to the way it was and deal with this problem myself while you... do whatever it was you were doing."

Thirak turned away and kept walking. He continued to explain.

"I am not implying that you did this deliberately. Actually, I think your experiment would have been an excellent success if it hadn't been sabotaged."

"Sabotaged?" you gasp. "By whom."

Thirak sighed. "It's a long story and it might shed some light on why I'm so jumpy. Do you want to hear about who we're dealing with?"

You nod your head, thinking that "jumpy" is a rather mild way of describing this gentleman's condition.

"Well..." he began.
