Imprisonment.........and freedom

When you awaken, the first thing you notice is that you are no longer bound to the table. Instead, you are in a bed, a soft, silky bed with pink sheets, in what appears to be a little girl's room - pink wallpaper and carpet, stuffed animals on the floor, a dollhouse and dolls in the corner, and a small table. Oddly, though, the room has no doors or windows. You quickly find that it is very hazy and hard to think. You find it difficult to focus, and absolutely impossible to think about something serious for more than a couble seconds before completely forgetting what you were trying to think about. You have vague memories of something about a machine, a guy in a black coat, and some fancy, high-tech-looking room that you wouldn't be able to understand if your life depended on it.

All of a sudden, there is a flash and a man appears on a screen on the wall opposite your bed. A brief flash of something in what remains of your mind tells you that this guy's name is "Korak" and that there is something you didn't like about him, but you cannot recall what.

"Awake, are we?" he asks. "How are you feeling today, mm?"

You groan slightly, holding your head. "I feel... I feel... Ooooh, I-feel-pretty!" You exclaim, the stupor taking over your mind.

Korak laughs darkly. "Heh, excellent. I know what's happened to you so I'll speak slow. The room you're in in to be your room forever. You will never get out, but you have everything you need already in there. I'm sure your limited mind will allow you to enjoy what you have for a long time. Meals will be delivered directly to you. Well, I'm very busy so I must be going. Enjoy your new life! Ha!" With that the screen goes blank.

You clutch your head, trying to make sense of all this, but you find that the more you try to think, the more you are drawn into the stupor. It seems that your old, original mind has seemingly been completely destroyed. You look around and once again catch sight of the dollhouse in the corner. "Ooooh, yay, dollies!" you exclaim, and hurry over. You play with the dolls for a few hours before eventually collapsing on your back, giggling insanely.

A sudden crash shocks you out of your frenzy. "Wassat?" you ask, still bubbling with stupid girlishness. You hear a loud, deep voice let out a war cry (although you would never be able to identify it as such in your condition), and with a smash, a large man crashes through the wall that Korak had appeared on. "Hi-iii!" you cry happily. "Who-are-youuuuuu?" The man does not answer, but instead grabs you and forces you to the ground. He lifts your chin up and sticks a needle full of light blue liquid into your neck, making sure you are injected with all the liquid before getting off.

For a minute you just lie there, stunned. You stand up, dizzy, and when your head clears you notice something: the haze is gone, and you can think again! You thank the man quietly for restoring your mind, idly noticing something familiar about him. After brief thought, you recognize him as Calladus from before. You back away nervously, but Calladus grabs your wrist. "I'll explain later!" he says quickly, pulling you back out through the hole he created. Calladus quickly navigates the hallways, pulling you along. Eventually, Calladus smashes open a set of double doors at the end of the hallway and pulls you into the open. Then, Calladus kneels down and helps you onto his back, then resumes running away. Once the building is out of sight, Calladus stops running and the two of you sit down. Calladus rests his arms on his knees and his head in his hands, and speaks only two words: "I'm sorry..."

You are about to ask what he's sorry for when you hear a familiar voice. "You should be." You turn around and are surprised to see Thirak standing right behind you.

"Thirak...I'm sorry," Calladus says, looking up. "I did what I had to do. Korak...he offered me a way to resist the blasts...you know the way I am, I had to take it. But...I knew I wouldn't be able to live with myself after what I did...so I gave her the antidote to Korak's serum and broke her out."

You take a moment to rest while Thirak tells Calladus about what happened with you, then he turns to you. "This is Calladus, an old friend of mine. He told me he wants to redeem himself for taking you by helping us to bring down Korak. He possesses superhuman strength and I trust that he will be a great asset. But, I leave it up to you."
