Game 1 | Game 1 Outline |
You decide to take a moment and think about this. Everything the Sage has said so far has come true: you becoming hot-tempered and skilled in combat; Seth, who despite being calm and collected possesses fighting skill unlike anything you've ever seen; and so on. And as the wizard mentioned earlier, it was odd that the seemingly kind prince tried to have you killed. You look over at Seth, who is cleaning the ruffians' blood off his blade. After a few minutes of contemplation, you sigh, figuring that there really isn't much you can do against it. "Fine," you say resignedly, "I...I accept my place..."
You hear the female voice in your head chuckle softly. /So, you finally accept it, do you? There's a good girl, we're that much closer to getting you to accept your female self./
'No!' You shout into your head. 'No I'm not doing that! And don't you dare call me that; I am not a girl!'
/Really? Can you honestly say that anymore? <pause> Look, it it really all that bad to accept your female self?/
'I already told you I'm not going to do that so just get out of my head!'
/That's quite impossible. I am the female you. I exist as a seperate conciousness because you so steadfastly refuse to accept yourself as female. The only way to get rid of me is to truly and fully accept yourself as the female you have become, at which point I will cease to exist because you are the female./
'Well that's not going to happen so you can just give up now!'
/You will accept it......in time.../
You swear under your breath, then turn to Seth. "No sense in wasting time. Let's go kill those Titans."
"Not just yet," the Sage says. "Before you go, allow me to show you something." The sage leads you to a stone tablet in the back that depicts three creatures: An armored hawk, an armored horn-less rhino with a thick spiked tail, and a vicious-looking serpent. "These are the Titans you must face.
He points to the hawk. "The Titan of the Sky resides in the Varrinnu Mountains to the north."
He points to the serpent. "The Titan of the Sea resides in the Great World Sea; the nearest coast is to the west."
He points to the rhino-creature. "The Titan of the Earth resides in the vast Sannah Wasteland southeast of here."
The Sage then turns back to you. "All three are armored and exceedingly powerful. I have no doubts about either of you, but it is still my recommendation that you milady obtain a weapon before facing off against the Titans. Go see the Weaponsmith Hugo, who resides on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Valmara-the same place you were headed before the wyrm attacked."
Seth turns to you. "I think that is a good idea," he says. "I know the man personally--he is the one who forged my sword. He is the greatest weaponsmith in all the land. I leave it up to you, though. I have my weapon, and if you prefer to fight the Titans without one, that is your choice."
"Alright," you say. "You're right, I probably do need a weapon. This whole thing is new to me, and I'm still not used to anything here, so I need to take what I can get."
Seth nods. "A fine choice, milady. Come. We shall head out immediately." You are a little put off by the way Seth and the Sage keep calling you 'milady', but decide to ignore it for now.
You and Seth leave the temple and head down the village streets. As you walk, you see some more ruffians hiding in the alleyways eyeing you, but none dare venture out for fear of Seth.
Upon reaching the town gate, Seth turns and heads southwest, and you quickly follow. Not too far in the distance you recognize the large entrance to the cave where you entered this world between the two forests you saw earlier. Neither one of you tries to make conversation during the journey. Just because you accepted your new form and your new role doesn't mean you're used to it, and you need some time to adjust. Meanwhile, it is clear that Seth is not much of a talker anyway; he seems like the kind of person who only speaks when necessary, always tells the truth, and always says what's on his mind, regardless of whatever effect it has on others. You find this an admirable principle to have, and find yourself beginning to see Seth in the same way you saw your friends back home.
As you near the cave, Seth looks over his shoulder back at you. "Be alert," he warns, "for we approach the Cave of the Damned. A horrible monster dwells within, along with a cult of dark priests."
You nod. "This is where I entered this world..."
Seth eyes you warily, then seems to recall something you told him earlier. "Wait, you said you were rescued by Petros, right? And then you said he used his magic to [ahem] 'have his way' with you?" You nod. "Then we must be cautious. Petros is an old acquantance of mine; I know him well. Once he has something he will not surrender it. I am sure he will be back for you, and although you were morphed by the test in the castle he will still be able to recognize you..."
Seth is cut off by some rustling in the brush. He draws his sword and waits. A young man about the same age as Seth steps out. That wild brown hair and piercing brown eyes, that gigantic sword and those bright red robes--Seth was right. It is Petros, and as Seth predicted, he does recognize you.
