Game 1 | Game 1 Outline |
You have a dream where you walk through a great city, a vast metropolis where every building is empty ... it's like a ghost town. As you walk, you see a lone stranger some distance away walking towards you. You watch the figure as it walks, and it never seems to come any closer, walking down the street to nowhere. The figure wavers and shimmers, as if you were watching through the haze of a hot summer day. Suddenly you hear voices, and you feel hot breath on the back of your neck, but you cannot move your head, you cannot stop staring at the walking figure.
Suddenly, the figure vanishes, and in the blink of an eye reappears right before your eyes. Try as you might, you cannot tell who or what it is. You can see that it's human, but it's wavering so much you can't make it out. Then the symbol from the artifact apears on it's forehead, and blackens like some materialized darkness, like a never-ending void. Then its mouth opens wider than that of a normal human, baring its gleaming, blood-stained teeth, its eyes crimson red. You look around you, and everywhere are human corpses, scattered over the streets. You try to scream, but you realize the creature has your neck in its strong clawed hands ... You're next, it murmurs, in a hot, fiery breath ...
You wake up, sweat beading your forehead, your clothes sticking to your body ... was it just a dream? You look around at a warm summer day. Where am I?, you think to yourself. Last you remember, you were exploring, and the building had started to collapse ... what happened next?
How did you get here?
You examine your surroundings. You are in a field, the grass thick and tall, with a strong, sweet aroma. There are a few trees surrounding the field. You stand up and realize that you are not in pain, even though you were crushed under that building ... wouldn't you hurt badly, or at least be bruised? You look at yourself from head to toe ... not a single abrasion or contusion.
You hear rustling behind you ...
