The Silent Police

The blaring sirens behind you bring you completely out of your thoughts just as suddenly as you entered your dream. A police car is practically tailgating behind you. At this point, you think that the cops are going to ticket you for damaging public property, but that was a rather peculiar sign to begin with. As you pull to the side of the highway, you're thinking of handling this in court. One of the officers approach your vehicle with his pad and pen at hand, and you roll your window down as he walks to your door. There is a long, eerie silence between you and the cop. He continues to stare you down behind his sunglasses. A freezing sensation runs through your skin, and your mind fills with thoughts of fleeing. Glancing at the rear-view mirror, you notice the second officer coming out of his car and approaching your passenger's side. The first officer places his pad and pen back in his pocket and continues to glare at you without a word. Finally, you manage to mutter the first words, saying, "Is there a problem, officer?"
