What the hell did you just say?

"Eee krlp nee aksiddle!" The alien presses a switch on a control console. "Lo siento, señor," the alien says. "¿Hablas español?"

"Uh, I don't speak Spanish," you tell the alien.

The alien mumbles something and pushes another switch. "Forgive me," the alien says in a calm, mostly emotionless voice. "There are so many different languages on your world. Can you understand me now?"

"Now I can," you reply. "Who are you?"
