Father Knows Best

"Um, I missed breakfast again," you tell him.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," replies the little boy. "Do you miss it often?"

Just in time to save you, the tot's father interrupts. "Jonathan, leave the nice wolf alone," he says, his forked tongue flicking in and out of his mouth. "Otherwise, someone else may be missing a meal or two, and your mother has a surprise planned for us tonight."

The little boy widens his eyes and smiles. "Mice, Daddy? Are we having mice again, finally? I promise to be extra good."

You are left in peace and quiet for the rest of the ride.
