Game 2 | Game 2 Outline |
With a jump, you fall flat on your face on the pavement. Good thing those kids aren't around, you think beneath a spreading blush. You flip yourself over, and there, laughing at you with a friendly smile, is Albert! The huge gator grabs your shoulder, lifts you up and sets you on your feet.
"Hey, Albert", you grin. "What are you doing all the way out here?".
"Well", he answers as the two of you walk along, "I was wondering if maybe you'd like to do some overtime work with me sometime. Jake does get to be a pain sometimes", he admits conspiratorially. "I should know ... been with him for a few years now. Besides, a little extra work would do you some good. The kids would love ya even more.", he adds with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around you.
"How do you know about them?" You ask.
"Oh, it happens to all us morphs. The kids love us. That's why most of us end up working at places as mascots. No costumes, free movement and a very decent wage."
"The kids must love you," you chuckle.
"I'm huge, powerful and very cute", he jokes.
As you reach an intersection, he stops and points off across the road. The building there is an indoor swimming pool, the huge words of its wall-mural sign outlined in white and blue, with huge gator, hippo and rhino images all around it. You chuckle as you realise that's where he works.
"Nice job," you smile.
He smiles wholeheartedly at you. "Drop by some time. There's an opening for the hippo mascot. The last one moved away last month."
"I'll give it some thought. See ya tomorrow?", you ask as you start to walk away from him.
"You bet. See if you can stop by. I'll be working tomorrow from 9am to 6pm. I don't think the kids'll mind another one." He says to you with a smile.
"I'll see you tomorrow, then, Albert!" You shout to him.
"Same to you!", he shouts back.
