"I wish I knew," laments Fred. "The goverment agency for--I mean, my employer--assured me that my condition could not be spread. I had mixed feelings about asking for help with my groceries, but only due to the secrecy of my assignment. I mean, whoever heard of a talking wolf, much less one who buys his own groceries?"
At this, you and Fred share a laugh, but your conversation soon resumes its sobriety. Fred rests a forepaw on your shoulder. "I can explain everything to you," he offers, "but once I do, there's no turning back. Would you like me to spill my guts, or is the terrible danger that you would face as a result a sum too princely to pay?"
