Nervous Anticipation

As always, your alarm clock hurts your ears, which are overly sensitive even in their human form. The morning generally finds you and your wife once more furless, even though you are able to change back at will. Since you have to go to the airport, it makes little sense to do so now.

You nudge your wife, happy that her envenomed flippers are gone with her bill and fur. "Wake up," you nag. "Our flight leaves in two hours!"

Over breakfast, you chat excitedly. "Carol, do you think that they'll bring the cubs? Do you think that they'll have car trouble? Do you think that they'll remember where they parked?"

Your wife stops eating and takes you by the arm. "Dear, Chad is an adult. So is Melissa. Relax and finish your kibble."
