You are dressed up by a lady-in-waiting in a pair of yellow panties, matching slip and socks, and then have a yellow dress with white polkadots gently placed over your head.
Your hair is then given a very good brushing, before being pulled into braids, and plaited with ribbons intertwined.
The new look is completed with a pair of yellow shoes with gold buckles on them.
You can't believe it as you look into the mirror, and see a pretty little girl in her Sunday best staring back at you.
Once again you break into tears, but people are not going to put up with such behaviour.
You receive a sharp slap on the bottom and are told that you must learn to behave as a lady if you are to attain your appointed place in life and be married to a suitable husband.
It is only later that you hear that Clarissa had indeed had a sister Chantelle who had been kidnapped three years previously, and that you were going to simply take her place. They would explain that you had been dumped in a forest and found there.
