The American Way of Dealing with Medical Problems

"Well, let's think this over rationally," you say. "Aspirin clearly works to some extent, so the condition can be mitigated by drugs. Logically, it is likely that a drug with a stronger effect should be more effective. A doctor could probably deduce the proper substance more accurately, given time to research, but in the meantime simply experimenting with similar but more potent pharmaceuticals should yield useful results."

There is a pause.

"What are you talking about?" Pitti-Sing says, wrinkling her nose.

"Uh," you say. "I mean, a stronger drug than aspirin might make us more human."

"Oh marvellous!" Pitti-Sing replies. "Let's go to the drugstore right now!"

"But ... aren't we still kinda cat..." you begin, as she hurries out the door. "...like?"

Well, that's not good.
