Opening a Letter

"Yeah, I saw that too," Fred says. "I don't know, though, I've got a bad feeling about this."

"C'mon, you're scruffy-looking, but you're not Han Solo," you reply. "All we need to do is go to this place, point out that they've got the wrong guys, and get this all straightened out. Should be simple, right?"

"Yeah, but what do you think of when you smell brimstone? I just want back into my apartment."

You groan. "C'mon, it's not that," you assure him. "Here - we'll open this one up and prove it. Hold it down while I tear at it."

A minute later, you're reading the words.

Dear Ozymandias,

I am warning you for the last time - your period of freedom is ending. I told you when I gave you your human form that you would only have two months, as was our bargain, before I would take away what I have given you. Those months are at an end. You must return and serve me, as you swore.

You cannot ignore me. I have already set the spells to take back your humanity and force you to return home. Come quietly, and I will be merciful.

- Elizabeth Calanthia Shelley

Silence reigns for a moment.

"That's it," says Fred. "I'm going back to my apartment, going to bed, and sleeping until I wake up from all this craziness."

"You're locked out," you remind him.

"Drat," says Fred. "Well, what now, then?"
