Buried treasure

Deciding to wait for the tide to go out, you and Fred temporarily bury the gold in case someone else decides to come along and pinch it. Then the both of you decide to watch the sun come up.

Dawn finally breaks and you see that the tide is low enough for you to get to the cave. "Time to dig up our buried treasure, Fred!" you say.

"Speaking of buried things," replies Fred "What's THAT?"
