Game 2 | Game 2 Outline |
Suddenly, you get an odd sensation, like the pull of gravity was suddenly reversed, then returned to normal. The world around you seems to shimmer and distort, and you find yourself no longer in midair, but standing on a white marble floor of some sort. You look around and see that you are in a wide marble hallway, with a set of double doors at either end - large ruby doors at one end and smaller obsidian doors at the other.
"Where am I?" you ask aloud, still unused to the incredibly sweet, somehow false-sounding, sound of your voice.
Just like you did with the mirror, simply voicing the question causes the answer to appear in your head: The Realm of the Gods.
"Why am I here?" you ask. You've figured out by now that, being a goddess, vocalizing something gets it; however you're still wierded out by the fake-sounding voice that issues from your mouth.
Again, the answer appears immediately: I have been summoned here, for introduction into their ranks. You're at first a bit surprised by the use of "I" in the answer, but realize it makes sense: the answers are not provided to you by anyone else, but by yourself, by the powers afforded to you by virtue of being a goddess.
You glance around, and your eyes land on the obsidian double doors at the end of the hall. Somehow, you know to go through there. It is not clear-cut, worded information like when you voiced the questions, more of a feeling, an instinct. You open the doors and step through.
---------------
Another wide hallway greets you, but this one is more like a meeting hall. And that's just what it is. Eight other gods are in the hall, one standing directly ahead of you and the others in two lines facing each other in front of and to either side of the central figure. Four stand to your left and three to your right. They stand in four rows of two, with one empty space opposite the one on the far left. You walk down the center between them. As you pass each one, you somehow know instinctively who each one is:
To your left is Nepte, god of the sea.
To your right is Ithia, goddess of harvest.
To your left is Kethe, god of winter and all things cold.
To your right is Melvin, god of parties and feasts.
To your left is Hikane, goddess of the forest and the wild.
To your right is Murphy, god of bad luck, poor timing, and unfortunate events.
To your left is Thorias, god of secrets, stealth, and security; a guardian god.
And directly ahead of you, the central figure, seated on a simply-carved marble throne, is Kai, the king of gods and god of kings. Kai, who rules over the realm of the gods, the realm of the living, and the realm of the dead.
Kai doesn't look like what you'd expect a king of gods to look like. He doesn't look a day over 25, and is clean-shaven, with short brown hair, and cutting blue eyes. He wears a beige shirt and pants, with a brown mantle around his shoulders, and gold wristbands. He wears a golden ankh pendant around his neck and a large sword is slung across his back. You realize (possibly from your abilities as a goddess) that the ankh and sword symbolize Kai's power over life and death.
But although he doesn't look it, you can tell that Kai is easily the most powerful being in the room. Even with your status as a goddess of combat, you know, somehow, that Kai could very well obliterate you with ease if he wanted to.
Kai looks at you as you stand in front of him, scrutinizing you, sizing you up. "State your name and title for the Assembly." Kai states; his voice is calm, collected, and commanding.
"I am-" you swallow, forcing down the instinctive need to cough or clear your throat. The false sweetness of your voice is unnerving, but you know you have to ignore it. "I am Gokina, Goddess of Combat and Gaming First Class Unlimited."
Kai nods, and gestures to his left, to the empty space opposite Thorias, directly to your right. "Very well. You are accepted. Take your place, Gokina."
