Fred turns tail and takes off! What a shyster! You hang up the phone and nod to yourself for your keen thinking.
Waitaminute. Your wallet's gone - the wolf stole it!
Indignation spurs your feet on and you run like the wind - sure it's a logical impossiblity that a wolf can talk, but that logical impossibility is running away with yoru ID and credit cards!
The wolf whips down an alley. You run and run to keep up, but you're sure you're going to lose him - canines can run fast!
