Mysterious greens

the next morning, you wake up and hear a commotion downstairs. You pull on some clothes and head down, seeing Fred and Albert standing at the window.

“...I mean, do you think someone else did?” Says Fred, continuing a conversation.

“It must have been, either that or someone’s pulling a prank.” He replies.

“What’s going on?” You ask, walking to the window, trying to see past your friends to see what they are looking at.

“Someone’s messed with Fred’s garden.” Says Albert. “Just go out there, and check them, they are probably just plastic.” He says to Fred.

You look out the window at the garden. After yesterday, you knew everything was practically dead. But now, you see it looks like it has been tend d to, as you can see the bright colors of produce. You quickly go outside to see for yourself. Sure enough, the plants look healthy now, as if they had gotten a good dose of water, sun and fertilizer over night. Everything looks ripe, even the pumpkin has grown to a healthy size. You touch them just to be sure, squeezing a cherry tomato and feeling the firm but juicy flesh. You pick it and throw it in your mouth, biting it. Sure enough it is real, the juices sweet and tangy.

You remember the camera, could it have caused this? No it couldn’t be, it didn’t work on anything before. And these are nowhere near as big as the picture you took. Just to be sure, you go and check the other things you took a picture of.

The beanbag doesn’t look much different. The fruit in the bowl... maybe it is a bit bigger? The plant... it does seem to have a few more growth... maybe? The box of donuts?

You go into the kitchen, only to find the box empty. Well, you had some, and it’s likely Fred and Albert finished them off. Well, you can’t really tell if it’s just your imagination.

“Well, the garden is real.” You say, “but it definitely wasn’t like that last night.”

“Someone must be pranking us then,” say Albert, “there’s no more demons, or demon tricks, so there can’t be any other explanation then something mundane.”

“Well, if that’s the case, at least we have fresh produce.” Says Fred...
