A Partial Solution to Nerve Deafness

Straining, you detect a high-pitched sound emanating from the whistle. What a dumb whistle, you think; no one more than a foot away could hear it! You start to put the whistle back in the carton when you see your very distorted reflection in it. Even with the distortion, something seems amiss, and you decide to go into the bathroom to have a look at yourself.

To your amazement, your ears have grown! Your eyebrows, eyes, fingernails, nose, and teeth are all the same as before, but your ears have doubled in length and grown pointy. While still the color of your flesh, they have a very fine coat of down from top to bottom. You find the change oddly intriguing and debate whether to blow the whistle again.
