Interactive Story, Game 2 | Game 2 Outline |
Please accept my apologies for the transformations which have befallen you and the wolf. I cannot return you to your old lives, lest a mutual enemy of ours find you. I have chosen instead to give you new lives, and I hope that you can make the best of them.
Although the interior of this house looks the same, if you look out the window you'll notice that you're in quite a different place. I have moved you to Colorado, where you should be safe. By the time you finish reading this note, the wolf should have become an ordinary dog, a Great Dane in fact, and you should be a sixteen-year-old girl by the name of Kelly. I'm sorry I can't make you both adult male humans again, but this is for your own protection.
Wolfie, you'll find that you retain the ability to talk to Kelly, but not to anyone else. Your human intellect remains intact, so you'll be able to spend plenty of time relaxing and pursuing the life of the mind while enjoying the leisurely lifestyle of a dog. So you're really not that badly off!
Kelly, out of respect for your former manhood, I've placed you in the body of a tomboyish girl whose parents basically let her do as she pleases. You won't find them pressuring you to conform or be "feminine," so relax. You'll find Kelly's diary under your mattress, so you can catch up on her life. Your parents will be home in a few hours, so I suggest you get familiar with your new life by then.
In closing, let me just say that there are far worse things to be than a healthy girl and a healthy dog who are alive and out of danger. Please don't try to contact me, as you will only place yourselves at risk.
Sincerely,
The Old Man
"Wow," says Wolfie. "I wonder who these enemies are?"
"I don't know," you say, "but I do know we have a lot cut out for us. I don't know the first thing about being a teenaged girl!"
"Well, you heard the man," says Wolfie. "You get to be a tomboy. And you'll have me as your own personal confidant!"
"True," you say. "Well, I guess we should get down to investigating our new lives. Perhaps someday we can find out who these hidden enemies are, defeat them, and get our old lives back. . ."
