Game 2 | Game 2 Outline |
You tear the salmon out of the water, leaving a cloud of steam behind and the creature dies before it can finish a single flop. The scaly skin dries, cracks and flakes off an instant before flesh and bone crisp. Finally, the whole fish spontaneously combusts and you feel fueled anew as you absorb the heat of it all. You look down and see your giant griffon body still ablaze, and automatically plummet into the water to put it out!
You fall below the surface, but feel no splash, no sensation whatsoever that you are even immersed! The only thing you can see in any direction is steam, steam, more steam and thicker steam, all curdling away from your body like a flock of geese from a pack of dobermans. And the hissing... you briefly envision being dropped in a pit-full of king cobras. You use your instincts to level out and with one thunderclap of your wings through the swirling steam, you shoot out of the ocean and away from the island. With a brief glance back at the water, you can see a developing whirlpool of boiling water ostentatiously framed by a fortress of steam.
Later, as you continue glide through the skies, you wonder how the very air upon which you sail is not burnt up by your presence. HOW you can fly at all, or even breathe, is a mystery you are eager to solve. During this time, you have landed on a tiny vegetated island and are suprised at how the local plant and animal life doesn't seem to be bothered at your presence, other than the animals keeping well away. You look about and spot a tree and reach out to run a talon along its branch. Other than applied pressure, the tree is left unscathed. You turn your eagle's head and look along your wings and leonine body and see it is still aflame, though not much.
What the Hell. You shrug your wings back, and without any other clues, you will the fire to null, which it does. Continuing along these lines, you lift a set of talons and will then to burst aflame, which they do. You are startled as the flame rapidly spreads across your arm and you extinguish the process. This will take some effort. Focusing on the talons again, you will them to combust. The flame tries to spread but you concentrate on the talons and the talons alone. The flame is stationary and even though you release your concentration, the fire rages on. You will it to die down and it is so.
Staring at a boulder nearby, you try to will it aflame. Heat waves arise, but nothing comes of it. Either you don't have that sort of pyrokinetic ability or still need practice. A young chimpanzee in a less-than-distant tree seems to have been watching for the whole time and finally hurls a coconut shell at you. You cringe in anticipation of impact, still possessed of some of your old habits, and hear a slight crackling followed by a feathery feeling on your side. You look over and see a blot of grey where the feeling was and sniff: ash. Looking back, you see the monkey has left.
Yawning, you climb to a sitting position. Seems like a good place here for self examination, but you'd like to do something else. There's always the 'Big G,' to go scuffle with, or arrange an alliance and perhaps a partnership, but you're probably not ready.
You spread your wings and....
