"Please, Coach!" you bawl, the tears flowing freely down your cheeks. "I've tried! I've tried so hard! I ... I just can't shift! You gotta believe me!"
Your words are only half-true, but your emotions are 100% genuine. Will they have the desired effect?
For several tense seconds, all is silent, save for your whimpering and sniveling. Your lupine classmates look expectantly at Coach Lupo, and Lupo glares down at you with an expression of almost unadulterated disgust. Somewhere in that ice-cold stare, however, you think you can detect the tiniest sliver of pity beginning to form. Maybe, just maybe, he'll buy your pathetic story.
