"Well...", the lady otter explains, "You see, I need some parts to fix it. Now, you're probably thinking that a sophisticated ship like mine would need some more technological things to fix it with", she smiles, "but really, now all I need are some simple things just so I can return back to my own timeline."
You stare at the otter, dazed, your brain not quite getting what she said. Putting your finger at your lips, you finally think of a response after what seems like an hour.
"OK...", you think aloud. "Well, Mrs. Otter ... why in the heck should I help you? What's in it for me?"
She sighs deeply and looks into your eyes. "It figures that someone like you would say something like that..."
What? Is this so called otter from another time putting down your...smartness? Suddenly, a dark curtain seems to drop across your mind and you ... you ...
'Um um um...err', your mind stutters. 'Wow. Feel like...helping. Yah, gotta help.' You grab a brown stretchy thing and some other thingys from the room where you keep your food, and watch while the nice aw ... ow ... ow-ter ... while the lady does some stuff. While you watch her play with the shiny stuffs, you get tired and sink into a dreamless sleep.
You wake up confused, half-expecting all the weird things that happened to be one of those dreams where you wake up in your own bed ... but you're not in your bed. You're in a strange looking home, laying in the most comfortable bed you've ever ... laid in. Looking up, you see the otter staring down at you.
"Hello there", she grins. "Have a nice rest?"
You nod, not knowing any words to say. She pats your head, grinning widely.
"I never dreamed of finding you, really", she says. "No one in your time will miss you. And soon, you will forget your life and be mine."
What in the world is she talking about? You scratch your nose with your hand ... and see a large, furry paw instead! You gasp, feeling your now furry body. You've been turned into a bobcat! How are you gonna get out of this one?
