The contraption

you follow the strange man, hoping he is telling the truth. He leads you to a room at the end of a hallway. Inside the room there are many gears turning and making sounds.

"Sounds like a giant clock," you say.

"Well, something like that. It is called the Contraption and it is one of Dr. Hex's latest inventions. I hear he finished it yesterday and is dying to use it."

"Let's hope that doesn't happen," you say, taking a big gulp.

"Oh, but it will," says a voice coming from behind you.

"Yipes! It's Dr. Hex. Run!" you shout.

"why should I run," says the strange little man. "I work for him."

You knew you shouldn't have trusted him. He seemed kind of shady from the start, so you begin to run. that is a mistake because you are soon on the recieving end of the freeze ray you were warned of.

As you lay immoble, two guards come over, pick you up and place you on the machine.
