There's never a bad time for pudding!

The doctor scowls at the little twerp, whips out a black rectangular device and presses a series of buttons on it. A flash of greenish light a beeping noise and a second or two later, Scott is gone, and there is a small plastic tub of tapioca where he used to be.

"There. That ought to clear things up." The doctor smiles at you. "This was what we are going to show you. An experimental device that can transform reality in literally billions of ways. It should be easy enough to use. All we need you to do is play around with it for a month or so and file a report if you find any bugs, problems, or whatever." The doctor hands the device to you. It is about the size of a graphing calculator, with buttons on it clearly labeled. The buttons include, besides the obvious power button and contrast adjuster, the letters A through Z, the numbers 0 through 9, a little joystick, a miniature trackball, and some others with names like "Main menu", and "Reset". The doctor allows you to look the device over, then grabs his hat and walks towards the door, handing you a business card. "Here's my number if you have any problems, don't worry about the brat, I set him to change back after an hour or so."

The doctor leaves. You carefully place the delicious-looking pudding on the floor and sit down yourself, to decide what to do with your new toy.
