Soon after Ed departs from your chambers, a large man walks in. The wierd thing is, he's half-tortoise. He walks with a hunch and has a large shell. He has large muscles, and scaly green skin. On the back of his shell he carries some furnature. He dumps the furnature onto the ground and looks at you. "So, you're the new guy, eh?" he says in a deep, scratchy voice. "Welcome to the worst nightmare imaginable. You can't imagine what Ed'll do to you. The slavegirls always have it the worst. You're the third slavegirl we had. Me, I'm just a grunt worker. I should be grateful-"
"Woah woah, wait a minute here," you say, "First of all, who are you? What do you mean by 'third slavegirl'? What happened to the other two? How did you know I'm really a guy? What did Ed mean when he said 'eternity'? And why am I in such geat pain?"
"Hang on there, one question a a time," says the tortoise-man. "Ok, first, my name is Tony. As for the previous two slavegirls, they found an escape in death. But Ed has since taken precautions against that, so don't bother trying to kill yourself--it'll just make Ed mad." While he talks, Tony also helps you set up your new furnature in what is to be your new room.
"As for how I knew you're a guy, its because you're a girl now. Ed can't control anyone unless he transforms them first, and his magic only works on humans. That's the only weakness he has."
"OK, as for 'eternity', he really did mean 'eternity'. Ed has developed a way to stay young and healthy forever, and as long as he is alive, those affected by his magic will also remain perfectly healthy, and will also fail to age, just like Ed himself. (This is the precaution against death he took after the second slavegirl died.)" When Tony says this, you are stricken by grief and horror. Stuck as Ed's slavegirl forever....no...

Although since you stayed a human, it'll probably stop hurting completely in a couple days. Generally, those that stay human notice a dramatic pain decrease after just the first day, even."
"Well, that's enought chit-chat, I gotta get back to work or Ed'll be mad. I wouldn't want him to turn me over on my back again..." Tony groans
