Short Conversation

You move to sit over the edge of the bed, rubbing your wrists. You now realize how roughly tender your scaly skin is. Your tail pounds lightly a few times, expressing your rekindled joy.

"Dr. Finch will be checking on you shortly. He will inform you of the next procedure. Until then, you can relax and have your meal."

"Thank you," you say, your yellow, pupil slitted eyes connecting with Nurse Jennings for a moment. You can tell that she is mixed with many emotions, the most evident ones being kindness and nervousness.

She nods and begins to backtrack to the door. "Oh," she cries, turning around. She points at the small intercom placed on the wall next to the door. "If you need anything, push the second red button here for me." Smiling, she exits through the door.
