Because he deserved this.

You knew this wouldn't fix what Mike did to you. But the urge for revenge was so strong, you could not help but give in.

You walk down the path to Mike's house, swinging the axe you held from side to side. It was the middle of the night, and the only other person you could see as you made your way was a street bum, passed out from having too much booze.

Quietly, you made your way inside Mike's home. His parents were out on a trip to Alaska, so you didn't need to worry about anyone catching you-

You heard a low feral growl from behind you. It was Mike's dog, Rover. Fear crept into your heart as you stood there, frozen and unsure of what to do. If he barked, he would not only wake up Mike, but the neighbors as well, and it would be all over for you.
