"Were they, really?"

Bryan asks, looking amused at first. "That must have been torture for you; your bare feet are as ticklish as... as mine."

You look into Bryan's eyes. They seem to be glowing with a weird yellow light. You look again and everything seems normal. But you want to get away before any more weird things happen. "Help me out here?" you ask.

Bryan doesn't seem to be paying attention. He's staring at something, but you can't tell what. Suddenly he's himself again. "Oh, sure," he says. But then he freezes.

You look at Bryan again. This time there's no mistaking the powerful golden glow suffusing his eyes. And there is no doubt that his penetrating stare is fixed on your big ticklish barefeet. "Did they... tickle your soles?" he asks in a fiendish voice that doesn't sound like Bryan any more, not even the Bryan who once kept tickling your barefeet for six hours in a game of Spy until you finally surrendered. Is your best friend turning into a fiend? You see what's left of Bryan fighting for control as his hands move closer to your helpless feet. Quick, what can you do?
