Before you're even sure that the sign is some kind of warning, it disappears. Then you hear the gentle giggling sound again. You walk further into the meadow.
The beautiful day and the wonderful meadow give you a strong feeling of happiness. The further you walk, the happier you feel. Soon you feel so good, you start to laugh from sheer euphoria.
Or is it just euphoria? The grass feels so heavenly under your barefeet, it's actually tickling them. And you can almost swear it's on purpose. As the grass vibrates under your soles and between your toes, it tickles more and more and you start giggling again as you walk along.
Suddenly your laughter triggers a brain wave. You can finally rmemeber that what the sign actually said was, "BEWARE OF TICKLEGRASS!" But why beware of something so delightful?
You keep walking, but at a much slower pace. The ticklegrass is sending even stronger and more delightful tickles up through your soles. You can barely force yourself to lift a foot from the grass to step, and walk by sliding along as much as you can. You're laughing more frequently, too, which slows your pace further.
Suddenly you realize that yours isn't the only laughter in this meadow. The faint giggling noise you'd heard since reaching the island had grown stronger without your realizing it. But now you see why.
Before you, each about eight feet apart, you see a row of people of mixed sexes and ages sprawled in the ticklegrass. Each person has sunk to the ground and is giggling merrily as the voracious ticklegrass works his or her most sensitive spot(s). A couple of people even seem to be getting tickled all over, but every face you can see wears the same radiantly blissful expression.
They look so happy, and the ticklegrass under your feet feels so purposefully directed, that you want to take the next spot at the end of the row. Seeing how much fun everyone's having, you'd like nothing better than to lie back, rub your feet into the grass as quickly as you can, and get tickled silly. Of course, part of you still knows you ought to be looking for the Gigglefruit, but...
