A mist comes up

You and Bryan head for the brown village. You pass through a mist on the way. When you reach the village, you speak to a girl and then a boy you meet on the way. Neither of them answers you. They both look around, puzzled, then wander off.

"That must have been a Mist of Invisibility," Bryan whispers to you." Sure enough, as you head to the center of the village, you find that noone notices your presence. One or two people who seem headed to bump into you are repelled as if by a force field.

You and Bryan reach the village square. There appear to be exactly two dozen people there. Bryan decides it's time for him to play something. He wasn't counting on being invisible, but it probably can't hurt.

Though noone can see you or Bryan, everyone can hear the beautiful song he plays. He's an amazingly talented violin! One by one all the people in the square look up as if in a trance.

When they are all in a hypnotic-looking condition, you and Bryan begin a slow march out of the village. Unable to stop themselves or control their feet, they all begin to follow the pair of you in a line. This causes many of them concern, as they can't even explain to themselves what they're doing or why.

Soon you've led them all exactly two miles. As if in answer to a signal, the first person in line declares that he can't walk another step. He sits down. All the other guys and girls you've led away do the same. The leader declares that he's just gotta take his shoes off after all that walking. The urge spreads. A few folks seem to resist it, but soon everyone in the crowd has shed his or her shoes.

Bryan's song continues as they all start to look around at each other's feet. They're sitting in a loose circle, and soon the leader is mesmerized by the feet of his left-hand neighbour, whose gaze goes to her neighbour, etc. in a guy-girl-girl-guy-guy-girl-girl-guy pattern until the last guy in the chain seems captivated with the leader's bare feet.

Then the tickling starts, one person at a time unable to fight the impulse to tickle the next person's feet. When everyone is tickling someone and the circle is complete, you and Bryan vanish.

In a minute, you and Bryan find yourselves back at the beach, and back to normal...
