Game 2 | Game 2 Outline |
You slowly open the door and pick up the duffle bag with the equipment in it. As you sneak to the door, you find it easy not to make the floor creak, since you're so light now. You make it to the door and slowly open it to the outside, darting through into the open air.
Surprisingly, on the other side of the door you find Fred the wolf. He immediately jumps on you and opens his mouth to bark. Quickly, you grab his muzzle with both hands, holding his mouth shut long enough to talk to him.
"Fred!", you whisper urgently, "Quiet, before the wolf hears us!"
Fred shakes his muzzle loose from your delicate hands and stares at you. "Who are you?" he asks at last.
"Its me", you reply, "the person you dragged into this mess before."
"What happened to you?", he asks dazedly, though he keeps his voice quiet. In hushed tones, you tell him of what happened after he'd left.
"Can I see the machine?", he says when you've finished.
"Sure." You say pull it out of the duffel bag and hold it out for his inspection.
"This is it", he whispers. "This is the machine that switched our bodies." Fred peers at you some more ... and suddenly jumps back from you, an expression of horror on his furry face. "My ..." He quickly masters himself. "I'm ... I'm sorry. It's just that ... the ..." He slowly continues. "The body you're wearing ... I couldn't recognize it standing on its own after so long. But it ... " He droops his head and tail. "That body is my wife's."
You are flabbergasted. His wife?
"She's in a coma", Fred continues. "I designed this machine in hopes that maybe I could talk to her telepathically, directly into her brain. But all it ended up doing was switching minds. That's how I ended up in the wolf's body", he explains. "I was using him in an experiment. But instead of my talking with his mind, we were exchanged, instead."
"I'm sorry", you soothe him. "But right now, you have to help me get my body back."
Fred seems to steel himself for the task ahead. "I'll ... I'll try. What do you want me to do?"
"Heres the plan ..."
------------------------------The plan goes off smoothly. As Fred bursts through the now-unlatched door, you quickly drag your body from its resting place on the basement stairs. Meanwhile, Fred's fight is short as he rams his head, well, into his own head, knocking the wolf in his body out cold. Now all you need is a place with power where no one can disturb you. Your house seems like the perfect place, so you drag the bodies and the machine all the way home.
At your house, you explain to your mother that you (or rather, your body) got hit in the head by a baseball and were knocked out cold. If she could just lead you to a room where you could lay him down ...
Meanwhile, Fred waits outside with his own body, watching over the unconscious wolf that lies within.
Your mother leads you to your room where you lay down your body on your bed. Then, as she leaves the room to call 911, you set up the machine. Quickly, you place the helmet on your body's head, then go to the basement to help Fred sneak in.
While you're doing this, however, your little sister sneaks into the room and, seeing you asleep, begins to fool around with the helmet.
When you come back with Fred and his body, you immediately notice that your body is missing ... and that your sister's is there instead! You mutter darkly to yourself of what you're going to do to the little twit later ...
You quickly hook up the machine to the wolf and Fred, hurrying in hopes of catching up with your little sister before she does something stupid with your body. Just as you're about to hit the "Enter" key, though, your mother walks in with a pitcher of water and some cold towels for your body's forehead. With a scream, she trips over the tangled cables you so hurriedly connected, and spills the water directly onto the machine!
As you awaken from the resulting short circuit, you notice ...
