Fortunately, old habits die hard, and Brian's instincts remain more feline than yours. Quick as a whip, a large wolf runs past you and after Brian, who panics and attempts to scale a nearby wall. No longer endowed with claws, he lands kersplat on the floor, where the wolf seizes him by the leg. As you quietly inspect your new fur coat, Brian appears to stand trial before the storekeeper.
"So, been reading my spellbooks, have you?" chastises the old man. "Even if I do leave him the way that he is, that in no way excuses you from your duties. If there weren't already too many mice in back, I'd arrange for you to join them. Now, find something to do until your system can undergo the reverse transformation. Meanwhile, thanks to you, I have to lure another human being in here for the interview."
