Call a Friend

You are afraid to go outside, but there's nothing to stop you from telephoning your best friend. You reach for the telephone and start dialing. Soon, you hear a ring.

"Hello?" asks a very tired individual.

"Eric! Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up. It's Joey. I'm watching this b-movie with David Naughton."

"Oh, that guy from 'My Sister Sam.' He did movies?"

"At least one, apparently."

"No fooling."

"So, you're probably wondering why I called instead of just coming over."

"You might say that."

"I'm stuck inside a stranger's house. Emphasis on the word 'stranger.' As strange as you'll find."

You finish and realize that no one is on the other end of the line. What is going on?
