Being in Danger Means Sometimes Having to Say You're Sorry

"Gee, Scott," you stammer; "I'm sorry to have shot you. I don't know what I was thinking."

The wolf--Scott, that is--loosens his grip, and his eyes soften. "That's all right," he says. "I guess I'd react the same way, if I were still human."

You decide to rely on your career skills. "Would you like to talk about it?" you ask him.

"Are you some kind of psychiatrist?" Scott asks. "If so, I don't have the money to spend on therapy. Besides, I've grown to like the way I am. Do you have a problem with that?"

Maybe you should try a different approach. "Not at all," you confirm.
