You go over to the window and open it, but just enough to allow ventilation. You want to make it clear to Fred why you are in his house, which is . . . oh, right: you are terribly afraid of him, and stuff. You decide to work on your delivery and finally say, "I'm not coming out until I know it's safe."
Fred glares at you, but his eyes soften after a moment. "I'll overlook the fact you've locked me out of my house, because I think you should know something. When I charged at you earlier, my teeth grazed your arm. It was an accident and may not have hurt at the time, but it means you're probably turning into a werewolf even as we speak. I can help you through the change if you let me in, but it's up to you."
"That's the oldest line in the book," you reply, wanting to dismiss his words altogether.
"All right, then," says Fred, "take off your shirt and see if your body looks the way you remember."
