Demon denial

"NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" you say almost instantly at the offer, "You possessed me, cursed Fred, hurt Albert, turned me into a demon, and you expect me to JOIN YOU!?" you yell.

The Demon looks angered for the first time since he was summoned. "Don't think like a mortal, boy," he says, as if talking to a child, "You ARE a demon now. You really think that you have a choice, that you can LIVE amongst them?"

"Yes, they are my friends, not you,"

The demon laughs, a cruel mocking laugh. "Friends? You really believe that will last? You are a demon of gluttony. Think on that. Really think about what that means." He says, his tone calming once more. He turns and begins walking away.

"Wait, what do you mean?" you say, but the demon ignores the question.

"I have an eternity for you to come to your senses." he says, "You will see my way soon enough."

And with that he vanishes.

"... up!!"

A hand slaps you across the face, though it doesn't hurt. Your eyes come back into focus and you see Fred, shaking you.

"Fred?" you say, "What are you..."

"You've been standing there like a statue!" he says, "What happened?" You shake your head, clearing the fog, and that lingering memory of something deeper then you imagined. "The demon!" you say, "He was here... I think, or maybe it was a mind thing? I don't know, but he wanted me to join him, and I said no!"

Fred looks shaken, "That's... good and bad?" he says, "Bad that he can contact you, good you said no I mean."

"Where's Albert," you ask, worried he's not with Fred. "Still on stage," he says, pointing. You turn and see the Boar, arms raised in triumph with the cup for the pie eating contest. Albert is sprawled across the table, the pie trays having collapsed on him, covering him in the smears of pie filling.

"He gave it a good run, but it was eventually too much for him," says Fred, as the two of you run up to help him. You and Fred pull Albert to his feet, and you see that his stomach is distended into almost a ball from how many pies he ate. Albert stirs as he is moved, belching and saying groggily, "Did I win?"

"Sure you did buddy," Fred lies, "Let's get you home."

"Ok mama," says Albert, clearly still not coherent as you two help him along to the car. You drive him home and into bed, where he collapses like a ton of brick. Fred also goes to bed, leaving you to think on what the demon said alone through the night.
