Pokehybrids

You wake up, and see a girl standing over you. Well, actually, a girl covered in yellow fur, with long black-tipped ears and a lightning bolt tail. She seems to be some strange mixture of a pikachu and a human. A poke-woman?, you think crazily. No, I guess she'd be more of a poke-hybrid. Looking down at you with concern on her yellow-furred face, she reminds you of your girlfriend Jessie, who was a member of the archeological team.

Suddenly, her mouth opens ... and instead of any variation on 'Pikachu', what you hear is, "Are you awake?"

That voice, you realize. She is Jessie! Smiling, you give her a sarcastic, "No, I'm still unconscious."

"Specs!", she cries, the name she's had for you since long before the eye surgery that finally banished your glasses.

"Of course", you grin. "Why, didn't you recognize me?"

By way of answer, she grins, holding up a small pocket mirror. Blinking in shock, you slowly realize that the red-cheeked yellow face looking back ... is you!

"Oh, no", you groan.
