Should Have Done Your Homework

Just then ,you catch sight of yourself in a mirror. Boy, do you look chubby! Where there was once a powerful, nay fearsome, creature of the night, there now stands a overweight pooch. No-one's going to be scared by you. They might try to pet you, though.

The thought makes you lose your appetite somewhat. You've got to stop your gain! Resisting your appetite, you start looking for a library. After another half an hour (or 30-odd lbs) you eventually stumble onto it.

At first, it looks more like a cavern. It's huge! You'll never be able to find anything you need in time. The room is dark and as echoey as your growing belly. If it's possible, you're getting even hungrier. You won't be able to resist for much longer. You quickly start to rummage through one or two of the shelves, hoping that someone has kindly put the books into some kind of order.

No such luck. A lot of the books seem to have some kind of supernatural basis to them, but they're all lumped together. You whimper a little at the unfairness of it all. It's never like this in films! Someone would at least have had the courtesy to leave some torches hanging around. Following your stomach's example, you spread out into the library and begin pulling dusty volumes out at random, desperately looking for something to help.

Rifling through a bookcase, you disturb something on a higher shelf, which falls onto your head with a solid thump. In the gloom, you examine the object and where it fell from. It turns out that you've found...
