You are back on your childhood farm. Your old large, white farmhouse is right next to you. You are standing in the front driveway looking toward a two-lane road that you remember well from your youth.
You walk up the steps of the front porch in amazement. "This is unreal," you think to yourself. "Have I really traveled back in time? That was what I wanted . . . to relive my childhood?"
You ring the front doorbell to see if anyone is home. No answer. You test the doorknob and find, to your surprise, that the door is unlocked.
"Okay, so do I just walk in?" you wonder. You decide to walk in; you do not want to just stand on the porch all day.
"Hello?" you call out. "Is anyone home?" No response. You walk through the living room into a smaller room where you remember your father made his private office. Looking around, you recognize the large oak desk your father used. You remember the family photos that your father used to display. There are still photos on the desk, and you see yourself in several of them. However, there's something wrong.
"If I've travelled back in time," you wonder, "then why am I an adult in most of these pictures?"
You find a nameplate next to your father's desk lamp. The strange thing is, it's not your father's name engraved on the nameplate. It's YOUR name!
You look at some more photos up on a high shelf. You recognize your father's old machine shop where he used to repair combines and other farm equipment. Your father, however, is not the one shown working in this photo . . . YOU ARE!
You realize that your wish has had an unintended consequence. "I wished to be back on my childhood farm so that I could live my childhood again, not so that I could take over running it!" you shout to the ceiling.
You hear the front doorbell ring. "What now?" you wonder.
