You accept the genie's offer

"I accept your terms," you tell the genie, wondering what the hell you are getting yourself into. You have played many different roles in your lifetime, but 'dragonslayer' is not one of them. "I wonder, genie, will you provide me with any weapons, or am I supposed to kill this dragon with my bare hands?"

"That is up to you," the genie replies. "Now . . . into the bottle you go!"

You reappear back where you were before, standing next to the bottle. You suddenly begin to shrink. Green, misty smoke envelopes you. You disappear into the genie's bottle world.

When the green smoke clears, you find yourself on a beach. The water is calm and remarkably clean and clear. You see a myriad of fish swimming around. You turn around to look at the island and see a vast mountain range beyond a forest of tall pine trees.

"So, what do you think of Karth?" you hear a familiar voice ask you. Startled, you turn around and see the genie standing there, no longer holding the lantern he had when you were in the limbo realm.

"Are you going to help me?" you ask the genie hopefully.

"I cannot help you," the genie answers. "This is your task to complete. However, I will be watching and listening to everything that goes on. Good luck." With that, the genie disappears in a puff of smoke.

"Here goes nothing," you say, shrugging your shoulders. You march into the pine forest.

About a half hour later, you are surprised at how far you have come in such a short time. The mountain range appears to be much, much closer now than you would have expected. Apparently, the terrain on this island can play tricks on your judgment of distances.

You come up to a cave with a tiny, narrow entrance. The entrance is approximately six feet wide and just tall enough for you to walk through without having to bend down. You follow a short passageway leading downhill . . .

. . . and you end up in a vast chamber. Stalactites protrude from seemingly every inch of the ceiling. Stalagmites stick up out of the ground along the edges of the cave, but there is a large circular area of flat ground that you can walk on. The circular area is large enough, you think to yourself, for a huge dragon to come lumbering through.

You hear a roar. Something starts to come out of a large hole in the wall about twenty yards to your left. You turn to run out of the cave, but are shocked to see that the way out is now closed, sealed off by a huge boulder! Terrified, you look for someplace to hide. Your only chance is to hide behind one of the larger stalagmites.

From your hiding place, you fearfully watch as the creature enters the chamber. As the creature steps into the dim light, you can see that it is . . . .
