Choose who you would like to see engage in combat!

You find yourself standing on a balcony overlooking an enormous combat arena. A massive crowd of spectators, mostly humanoid, is gathered in the stands. There is a futuristic looking control panel in front of you that is far too complicated for you to comprehend.

The genie appears next to you. "Your wish was very non-specific, so I decided to, uh, try something you might find interesting."

"What . . . what do you mean? Where are we?" you stammer. "I don't recognize this place from any sci-fi movie."

"It's not from a sci-fi movie," the genie says. "Tell me, have you wondered what would happen if you ever paired up two characters from two different universes against one another?"

"Well . . . sure," you answer slowly. "I've read comic books where superheroes from the DC and Marvel universes fight, and stuff like that."

"I'm not just talking about the DC and Marvel universes," the genie says. "I'm talking about characters from ANY universe you've ever heard of. You could have Luke Skywalker fight Superman. You could have Worf from 'Star Trek' fight Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You could have the characters from 'Friends' fight the characters from 'Dawson's Creek.' Whatever you want!"

"Wow, really?" you gasp. "I could have, say, a mud wrestling match between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera?"

"If you want to," the genie replies, chuckling.

"Hell, yes! This is too cool!" you shout, raising a fist into the air. "So, what do I do?"

"See those two glowing pads on the control panel?" the genie asks, pointing. You notice two pads glowing a dull shade of red.

"Yeah, I see them," you reply.

"Place your hands on those pads," the genie says, "then tell the computer what characters you would like to see engage in combat. You may give specific details as to the rules and weapons used in the match, if you wish."

"This is so awesome," you gasp in amazement. You eagerly place your hands on the pads. The computer monitor at the top of the control panel lights up, and a picture of some sort of space station appears on screen.

"What is your command?" the computer asks in an electronic voice, startling you. You regain your composure quickly and give your first set of instructions.

"Computer, I would like you to bring some fictional characters here to fight one another," you request.

"Of course," the computer responds. "Which characters would you like to see engage in combat?"
