You glance warily at the wolf, and feign outrage. Luckily for you, the trembling is genuine. "White wine with beef? White? I'm actually insulted by that!"
Your confidence dribbles away as the wolf just looks at you. "Since when have werewolves been noted for their social graces?" he growls, casually tossing the bottle away. You gulp, and slowly beging to step backwards. He advances on you.
"Erm... shouldn't you go and sharpen that knife up more? I'd hate for you to have trouble slicing me-" Without taking his eyes off you, the wolf throws the steak knife into the ground, where it stands upright in the floor, vibrating. "It's just for show, really. I don't bother with cutlery on fresh meat."
There isn't any sound around you, except for a distant howling and your worried snorting.
"Why.... why don't you go and floss? Good dental hygiene, that's important for everyone-" You break off as you find yourself backed into a corner, which your plump body is now squishing into. You glance around desperately, but all you can come up with is "Don't eat me! Think of your cholesterol!"
The wolf's glare silences you. The distant howling gets louder, building like thunder in the air. Your world seems to consist entirely of his toothy smile. "Don't get me wrong, but I'm really too hungry to care. Now keep still and I'll make this quick-"
Like lightning he springs at you, snarling, hackles up and with jaws agape. The howling builds to a violent crescendo, and time seems to slow. You see him launching at you. You scream and try to thrash him away from you, but you feel his teeth sink into your fleshy flank, forcing down towards the bone...
*Oh! 'Or 'od's 'ake!* The wolfs suddenly leaps away from you and storms to a window, which he throws open. "PIPE DOWN OUT THERE! I'M EATING!" Silence drops like a lead weight, broken by a few whimpers from outside. He turns back. "That mangy lot! I'll give 'em something to howl about-" He stops, looking at your haunch...
... to where a bite used to be. His expression changes, and he doesn't look happy. "Ah." Suddenly, your veins feel full of fire. You stagger. Your skin feels tight and icy cold, despite the sweat bucketing off you. The wolf somersaults backwards, away from your thrashing bulk. What's happening? Your vision spins, and you feel ready to black out, but something in your mind bubbles up. A werewolf's bite...
Your blood flashes icy, then boiling hot, then normal. Your vision doubles, then snaps back into focus. For a horrible second you feel like two people. Then you watch in horror as your body changes. But what are you becoming?
