How the mighty have fallen...

"Mortal, has the world changed much while I was imprisoned?" asks Vakoligan.

"Oh yes, enormously!" you reply.

Vakoligan shrinks back to human form. "I must know how this world has changed. Telling me will take too long, so I must conduct a mind read. You must let me read your mind so I can gain as much knowledge as you. I give you my word you will not be affected."

Reluctantly, you agree. You don't want to upset him further. You walk up to him and he plants his fingers on your head and goes into a deep trance. "Oh, oh my!" he says "This cannot be! No! What world have I been released into?".

He finally removes his hands from your head. "The mortals of this world have grown more powerful than me!" he wails "They have created magic forces that can weaken and destroy me!". He gives a heavy sigh. "This world holds no place for me!" he says sadly, as a tear starts to form in his eye "I may just as well return to my box prison for the rest of eternity!"
