When I Say 'Demotion'...

He seems to sail backward over the heads of the creatures in slow motion. His body seems to twist and crack in midair, limbs contorting as a new bone structure is imposed. The agonised howl continues, interrupted only when he hits the floor, still moving. He bounces:

"Orf...orf...orf!"

... before a brief skid spins the inert form to a stop.

By this time, the witch has once more unfolded herself from the terrible throne. The animals insinctively make a path between her and the one-time werewolf. She walks down it in slow, steady steps. Lacking any other instructions, you automatically follow her. It seems to be the right thing to do, as all the other creatures make way for you.

When she reaches the wolf, he's just returning to consciousness. He struggles to stand, then topples over again before he grasps that he now posesses four legs instead of two. He lets out a shocked gasp from lupine lungs, and obviously strains to change his form back to bipedal. The witch watches coldly. Finally giving up, he staggers to all four feet and whimpers, cringing pathetically in front of her.

"Mistress... no..." Surprisingly, he still retains the power of speech. And the intelligence to fully appreciate his suffering, of course.

Then the witch smiles. It's a terrible smile. She reaches down and affixes a large, sturdy collar around his neck, along with a chain. She hands it to you, still smiling.

"Keep him... as a pet." Your brow furrows again at the complexity of it all, whilst the wolf sinks to his belly with a broken sobbing noise. For him, the humiliation and punishment is total.

Then the witch turns away.

"Now go. All of you." Rapidly and in complete silence, the other creatures head for the exit. The wolf seems oblivious to what's going on, even when your heavy tread comes to the full length of the chain. A slightly hesitant jerk by you causes him to yelp, though, as he's promptly yanked off his feet and pulled about a yard. You forgot; bulls are strong. You wander out with the others, almost dragging the distraught wolf behind you.

What are you meant to be doing again?
