The Wolf and the Thorn

Following the sound of the howling, you creep through the woods until you discover the source.

Sitting on a mossy rock in the middle of the woods is a large, bulky werewolf, clad in only a tattered pair of pants. He is gripping his large footpaw and howling, and when you creep a bit closer you see why; There's a jaggered thorn sticking in the padded sole! It must be causing him a lot of pain, the poor thing!
