Pretty Kitty

The golden light fell away like stars falling from the sky. From the light appeared Jessie who was fast asleep. You remembered how you fell asleep when you had transformed. Must be a side-effect, or something.

Jessie stirred. She got up and stretched her four legs. She opened her mouth and let out a large yawn that could easily have been a roar. She glanced over her shoulder to look at her long, stripy body. She threw her tail about.

"Everything seems to check out" she muttered. "Hey, big ears! Everything look OK from up there?"

"I'll say!", you reply, "that is one very sexy transformation!"

"Eww! That's sick! I'm a completely different species!"

"What are you talking about?", you reply, stunned. "Didn't we get married yesterday?"

"That's beside the point. An elephant in a relationship with a tiger is just wrong. You don't get this animal stuff at all."

"You're one to talk!", you shout back, "you're a human too...well, partially."

She sighs. "We can still transform back you know. But while you have a tooth problem and I have a stripy tail there shall be no... stuff going on. Besides, you wouldn't be able to anyway."

She was right. Squishing your wife was not a terribly good idea.

"I believe we were going to the water-hole?" she questioned.

"Oh, right. Come on then!" You pick her up in your trunk and hold her unceremoniously over your head.

"Yowch! What's the big idea?!"

"You said you wanted a ride, so here it is!" You charged toward the water-hole at top speed. Never before had you been so excited at the sight of a puddle.

You plonked Jessie down on her fuzzy butt and waded into the water. "Ah... this is great!" You filled up your trunk and squirted several gallons of water over your back.

"No need to get excited over a bath...", mocked Jessie as she cleaned a paw with her large tongue.

You smirked as you aimed your trunk and fired a torrent of water at her. She yelped and howled like..., well, like any cat would.

"Why you!..." She was drenched from head to tail. She shook her body to dry off. You trumpeted with laughter at the sight of Jessie's fuzzed fur.

"I don't think they sell shampoo around these parts", you chuckled as you set foot on dry land again.

"Just you wait! I'll claw that trunk of yours clean off this time-". She stopped.

You looked at her, puzzled. "What?"

"Something feels wrong. I feel something coming."

She was right. You weren't alone...
