A mysterious power...

Suddenly, you find yourself in a dark room. From the sounds you hear above you you seem to be underground, beneath a forest of some kind. Looking around, you see to exits from the room; a ladder leading up onto the forest floor, and a dark tunnel that seemingly leads deeper underground...which do you take?
