One last chance

Tumbling down into the darkness, you become aware of a blistering heat bellow you... soon, you see a red light, much brighter than the one you saw in the cave systems earlier. you realize with sudden horror that you are about to be burnt to a crisp; you are minutes away from colliding with the mass of magma and rock known as the mantle. Just as you have resigned yourself to defeat, however, you see another bright light being emitted from behind you. rolling over while still in free-fall, you still see only blackness. Then you realize the same light is still behind you. craning your neck to see what is emitting such light, you find yourself gasping, as hope once more finds its way into your heart.
