“Oh thank you Diggs, how could I ever repay you,” Catherine said. “It was nothing really,” Diggs said followed by a sneeze. “Oh no, you caught a cold,” Catherine said. “No, I’ll be alright,” Diggs said followed by another sneeze. “Girls take him to the den, we’ll warm him up by the fire,” Catherine told her nieces. “Yes Aunt Catherine,” her nieces replied helping Diggs inside. While Catherine’s nieces helped Diggs downstairs Catherine went ahead and lit the fireplace. Once Diggs got down there he got comfortable as Catherine rapped a blanket around him. To provide extra warmth Catherine and her nieces nestled against him. Diggs’ heart beated fast as Catherine lay by his chest between his front paws. It even skipped a beat when diggs looked into Catherine’s luminous green eyes. Diggs couldn’t help but smile and said, “Thanks Catherine, I feel much better.” “Your welcome Diggs,” Catherine said smiling back at him. Catherine began getting that same feeling that Diggs had for her, she realized it was love. She didn’t know what to do but just wait and see what happens next. “I’ll wait ‘til the right moment, then I’ll tell him,” Catherine said to herself. They all got so comfortable that they soon fell asleep. They woke up again a few hours later to the sound of Amy calling out. “Catherine, little kittens, where are you,” Amy called out. When they heard the sound of footsteps Diggs hid in the shadows, he didn’t want to create a scene. Just then Amy and some of her friends come in and found Catherine and her nieces. “There you are, if you don’t mind Catherine we’re gonna play with the kittens,” Amy said. Catherine just gave a meow and watched as Amy and her friends took her nieces upstairs. “Ok Diggs its all clear,” Catherine said. “Guess it’s just you and me then,” Diggs said coming out of the shadows. “Yeah, so why’d you hide,” Catherine asked him? “She wanted you, I didn’t want to get in the way,” Diggs told her. “Oh I see, how polite,” Catherine said. “So what now,” Diggs asked? “Well its 8pm, with Amy’s slumber party on we can’t do much here,” Catherine told him. “How about we go to my place, remember nobody’s home,” Diggs suggested. “Yeah, I’d like that; come on lets go,” Catherine said. So they snuck outside past Amy and the girls and went on to Diggs’ place. “Hey I bet I’m faster than you, race ya,” Catherine said running ahead. “Oh you’re on,’ Diggs said chasing after her laughing all they way. They raced all the way to Diggs’ place where Diggs won by a nose. “I won, so what do I get for winning the bet,” Diggs asked Catherine? “I’ll think of something,” Catherine said smirking at Diggs. So they went into the backyard so they could enjoy the upcoming sunset.
