You can't help but feel it needs to be done. The woman is waiting for some one who, by all accounts, may never return. Maybe once she knows, she can move on. Of course, given your current streak of otherworldly activities, you decide to make sure your not making any sort of assumptions...
"Was your master by chance a ghost as well?" you ask her. The woman starts molding the dough into shape for her desert, "Of course not," she replies, a bit of a laugh in her voice. "Was he a vampire, or immortal, or anything else?" At this point the woman looks a bit annoyed, "That's not a very nice thing to say about the master, he's just a normal kind man." At this point your pretty sure you can assume that your not making any mistakes.
"Then... well... how can I say this..." you say a bit timidly. "It's been WAY too long for a normal man to have been away..." At this point the woman stops in her work, as if frozen. "What are you saying?" she says, a tone of worry in her voice. "I'm saying... I don't think your master can return... 100 years have passed, and most people don't live much longer then that."
The woman floats there for a moment, as if absorbing your words. You brace yourself, wondering how she will react when suddenly...
